New Glaze!

Trying out a new faux ash glaze, very happy with results so far. The piece photographed was sold shortly after being shot. Plate is about 7 inches in diameter, glaze is food & dishwasher safe. A few more are available for sale @ $20 each. E-mail me if interested.

Throwing for students at UW-Plattville today. Working on some larger garden sculpture pieces, help from Bruce Howdle and UWP with firing process.

I've been so busy over the last year, "What's New" has become more "What's Old" quite quickly. Finally updates have arrived!

Vernon Creek Gallery Has MOVED. We are now located in Spring Green, WI and are working cooperatively in a downtown shop called Timber Growers. If you're in town stop by and check us out at:

The Vernon Creek Gallery webpage has been revamped with new images from the last year, as well as a total overhaul of the Featured work section, worth checking out.

All upcoming shows will be posted on the front page, more will be posted as they are confirmed.

Currently working on a 6 piece dinner set for a customer, will have pictures up when it is finished. Look for more updates soon!

OPEN WEEKENDS

THE GALLERY is now OPEN WEEKENDS... Saturday 10am-5pm and Sunday 10am-2pm. Hours will be extended to weekdays come summer, sun, and end of school.

Stop out and see all of the new 2-D work being created by Amie Elizabeth in her new studio space at the gallery. Also, as always, you can say hi to the cats and see my latest pottery work!

Thanks to everyone who was able to make it out to the Fall Open house last weekend. Had a really good time without question, and great to have a couple friends finally make it out this way to explore my space. Next year?? These planters are the brand new item at VCG , and are being dubbed "ArtPots".

Really excited to see how these guys do when they go out into the world. Taking a break from "round", I'm really anxious to see how everyone likes them... hope they do well!

Playin' with the Big Bowls!

These bowls are both fired to Cone 6 in oxidation... Trying out another new glaze on one (and a new firing schedule), and the other some old glazes with some new pizazz, hope you like em!

Gotta love mugs... Gas Reduction Cone 10 on a porcelain body. This section is dedicated to my favorites, I'll post them as I fall in love with them...

Copper Zinc Crystals - Test Fire #1

The pieces you see here are glazed with a very special glaze originally formulated by the late Harding Black. This is my first set of firing tests using his Copper Red Zinc Crystalline glaze. These pieces were fired in a gas fired reduction kiln to Cone 10, the first of many tests to come!

Summer Woodfire '07

Here is some work that came out of the wood kiln this summer. Working with Randy Becker, we fire the wood kiln three times a year. Each firing requires weeks of preparation, about 2 cords of wood, and 36 hours of firing time until we reach Cone 10 holding the kiln at 2220 degrees Fahrenheit for several hours.
